FIELD CONFIGURATION

Our field is organized into two distinct areas - a primary flight line with 5 pilot stations and a secondary flight line for helicopters.

Birds Eye View

PRIMARY FLIGHT LINE

The Primary Flight Line has 5 pilot stations and fixed wing aircraft has priority in this area.

SECONDARY FLIGHT LINE

Rotary wing craft are encouraged to use the Secondary Flight Line.  Rotary wing pilots are welcome to use the Primary Flight Line when they are the only members at the field.

It is important that the two airspace's not encroach on one another.

FLIGHT AREA AND RESTRICTIONS

Langrum Branch Church is located south of the field, and maintains a cemetery just outside the entrance to the field to the east.  The club observes a self imposed restriction on Sunday until noon with electric only flight operations.  Out of respect for the church members we also cease all flight operations during any service observed at the Cemetery or Church.

The tower located to the North North-East is the York County Office of Emergency Management.  This is a 146.3m communications tower which handles many critical county communication functions to include 911 service, and just South and East is the Prison and Justice Center.  Flying anywhere near these is strictly forbidden.

Due north of the flight line is Lowes Home Improvement.  The club maintains a self imposed overflight ban of this area.

North-West of the flight line is Walmart.  The club maintains a self imposed overflight ban of this area.

New Homes West of the Bus Depot.

West of the flight line is the York County Department of Education school bus depot.  Under the terms of the land use plan with York County, overflight of this area is not allowed.

York County Solid Waste and Recycling Center.
