Q.  When do you fly?
A.  We are open from Dawn to Dusk, 7 days a week weather permitting.  We also maybe closed due to special events.

Q.  When is the best time to come and see people fly?
A.  Most days when the weather is good you will find someone at the field. The weekends are always good, and most evenings until 6:00pm.

Q.  What are the costs of joining the Club?
A.  Annual Club Dues for Adult members (18 and over) are $100. We offer family and youth discounts. All members are required to have a valid AMA membership which costs about $78.00 per year. (See our Membership Page for more information).  

Q.   Why do I also need to join AMA?

A.   There are many reasons to join AMA such as Safe and responsible flying, Government Advocacy, Flying Privileges at all AMA flying sites, Education, and more…  The most important reason, is your membership provides 2.5 million dollars of accidental liability insurance.  AMA membership is a requirement to fly at any AMA sanctioned field.

 

Q   Why must I register my models with the FAA and take the TRUST test?

A.   The US House passed legislation that requires all models that weigh .55 lbs. (250 grams) or more to register their model with the FAA.  Failure to do so can result in civil penalties up to $27,500.   The purpose of the TRUST test is to educate all model flyers on the safe and legal operation of their model.  This is also required by the FAA and can result is a civil penalty for failing to do so.

 

Q.  Are the aircraft expensive – how much will it cost to get into flying?
A.  We recommend purchasing a good used trainer airplane and equipment that will accommodate future advances in skill level will cost about $500.00.   You must become a member of AMA and belong to our Club.  Flight lessons with a skilled instructor are always free and we offer an Introductory RC Flight Program by clicking this link  Learn More About RC Flying   WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU SPEAK WITH A CLUB FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR FIRST BEFORE PURCHASING ANY RC PLANE OR EQUIPMENT!

A.  The airfield is located at 240 Langrum Branch Rd., York, SC.  You can see a map on this website.
