Adventures ahead

Its July already...  Events have come and gone but more are on the horizon.

Lets look at the boys. biys.  IMAC.  Brent, Justin and Daniel have been tearing up the sky the last month or two either practicing or competing.  They were Georgia Georga at I believe the GMA field that is the home field for Chris Hinson of Extreme Flight.  Justin placed 1st in his class and Daniel using Justin's YAK was first in his class.  Congrats to both as its always good to see people from the club do well.  wasn't wasnt happy with his finish but really hasn't hasnt had the time to practice.  Kudo's to all of you.  Justin is a brave man letting so many others fly his plane.  I believe Avery Poole was flying it too as the motor on his developed a crack and was grounded early in the competition.  Keep up the good work.

We recently had the York County Flyers DLG Festival.  It was a complete success and received have recieved great praise from the contestants.  The field turned out much better than I ever imagined and we had a good turn out.  With the $4.00 a gallon gas I was happy with the turn out.  We endured rain wind Thunderstorms and snow. 8-)  Ok not snow but I would not have been surprised if that were to hit too.  As the CD it was stressful at times.  Thanks for all the help guys couldn't I couldnt do this event without you.

Jack the dog is home and safe.  As some of you know Jack a dog from the Atlanta area was at the their contest with thier owners.  During the Thunderstorm he ran away.  After 13 days he was found and in good shape.  A great end to an Kudos tragic story.  Kudo to Bob Russell as he had a great search going on in the area....  Jacks owners said they will be back.

A work day has been set in Aug for the club field.  Remember that we will have a Fun Fly during Summer Fest this year.  Its a Fun Fly not a Big Bird fly in, so bring what you have to enjoy a day of flying at the field.  Any questions should be directed to Brent Good as he is the CD for the event.

Bob and Jeff's excellent adventure.

I type this message from Dayton Ohio as we are on the way to the Nationals in Muncie In.  You ask why in Dayton.  Ill tell you...  Monday we will be spending most of the day at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base Museum.  Bob has never been there so we departed a day early just to stop by.  I have been there before but I always love going to it.  Its got airplanes so what more can I say.

Tuesday we compete in DLG and it ends Wed.  On Thursday thru Fri is Open Unlimited and then Sat, Sun will be F3J.( Hand Tow event)  So a full week of geeking out with about 111 of your best registered  Thats right, One Hundred Eleven registared pilots for Open Unlimited.  The Nats is something everyone should enter or just go for the thrill of it.  Although I attend the glider events there is the pylon events that just wrapped up and scale has just finished.  Every aspect of model aviation is done here.  you museum is great and if yoiu want to talk to your AMA they are here too.

Enough rambling..  My adventure is just beginning this week and we will keep you updated.  Until the next message
